Summer Sabbath
This summer, we invite you to join our leaders in practising a Summer Sabbath. After giving 2025 the best go we could, the year is winding down and will soon reach the end, when we will stop.
We rest, we delight, and we worship. We sabbath. We take it all in.
We have worked, we have strained, we have practised and tried - and now, we stop and receive the gift of Christ and His rest for us.
As the ‘activity of church life’ ceases, we enter a time of rest and abiding. It may look like nothing is happening. But in this time of abiding, great strength is given to those who do the teaching, singing, leading, and serving throughout the rest of the year. Without a time for their spiritual ground to lie fallow, there would be a very poor harvest in the year to come.
Sabbath is about embracing our limits as humans and remembering that we are not God.
The following is an offering for you to use if you would like something to guide you in your worship over the Sundays of our Summer Sabbath.
