Our Vision
To see our city transformed through a community of people devoted to loving God and loving others.
Our vision is bigger than our church. We long to see Ōtautahi Christchurch changed the way that Samaritan village was changed (John 4:39–42).
That kind of transformation isn't the fruit of great programmes, events, or ministries. It grows from a community of people whose lives are shaped counter-culturally by Jesus' two greatest commands: love for God and love for others.
Our Mission
Awakening people to experience and express the depth of God’s love.
Jesus went out of His way to make Himself known to the Samaritan woman and her village. It is God's heart to make Himself known to every man, woman and child. Jesus is on a mission. He is the Living Water who satisfies every thirst, now and for eternity, and He has given His Church a part in that mission.
We are joining Jesus’ mission of:
Awakening people to the truth of who Jesus really is;
Experiencing the difference Jesus makes in real life; and,
Expressing the love of God in what we say, what we do, and how we care for others
Our Values
Our values define how we pursue our vision together. They name the current reality of who we are and are aspirational in who they call us to be.
The one exception is our third value which we claim as God’s biblical definition of who we are as the church.
We will be OPEN AND HONEST in how we worship and how we live.
We will become BETTER FOLLOWERS of Jesus Christ as the Holy Spirit empowers us to serve Him diligently with our head, heart, and hands.
We are the TRANSFORMING PRESENCE of Christ for the healing of our communities, our city, and beyond.
We will EMBODY GOD’S LOVE for the world both individually and as a community; inside and outside of the church.
We will be a community that CELEBRATES AND LAMENTS together as we journey through all of life.
