Data Collection and Privacy
We take your privacy seriously and will endeavour to protect any personal information from misuse or unauthorised disclosure.
We collect personal information from people, including information about their:
Name
Contact information
Gender, Date of Birth, Marital status, Life dates e.g. wedding date, date you first came to our church, date you became a believer, baptism date, confirmation date, dedication date, date you left (if you do), date of your death when it happens, partnership status, ethnicity, honours you hold, family type, Police Vetting status, Roles you serve in, tithes, giving and donations.
Any information we collect will be associated with a function or activity of The Well Church and not used for any other purposes outside of this.
We will notify people when their information is being collected and what it is being used for.
Information collected is made available:
To authorised staff and volunteer leaders to communicate with you, and to facilitate and provide for the activities of the church.
To provide data for the management, decision making, and processes of the church.
To keep a role of Partners and associated people as required by the Wesleyan Methodist Church of New Zealand.
To the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Aotearoa-New Zealand (WMCANZ) to enable the WMCANZ to engage with the church on its ministries and activities and to provide statistical information. Your name and contact details will only be provided to the WMCANZ if you are a key contact for a ministry or activity in our church. We also supply the WMCANZ with aggregated information which does not disclose any personal information.
Information is collected by fair and lawful means and is retained for as long as necessary to provide the requested service.
We will never hand out or use any information about an individual for purposes other than those mentioned above without first getting your consent.
We will not share any personally identifying information publicly or with third parties, except when required by law.
We will do our utmost best to protect within acceptable means, all personal information to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
You are free to refuse our request for personal information, with the understanding that we may not be unable to provide some of the desired services.
Personal information may only be disclosed to organisations in other countries where there are similar protections to those in the Privacy Act, unless otherwise advised.
