Formation Pastor
Are you a dynamic spiritual leader with a heart for seeing people formed deeply in Christ?
The Well Church is seeking a full-time Formation Pastor to join our pastoral team.
As Formation Pastor, you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team and play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the Formation Ministry at The Well Church. You will be responsible for providing strategic and practical leadership to the Formation Team Leaders as they develop and implement a robust discipleship pathway to help church members grow towards maturity in Christ within the context of loving community.
Who We're Looking For
A strong, vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for making disciples who make disciples
Passionate about helping people grow in their faith journey
Significant experience in leading and developing effective discipleship initiatives within a church context
Excellent communication and teaching skills with the ability to engage and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds
A proven track record of recruiting, training, and empowering volunteer leaders
Strong organisational and administrative abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and projects
A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively as part of a pastoral team
Committed to the theological beliefs and ministry vision of The Well Church and the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Aotearoa New Zealand
A licensed or ordained minister in good standing who is (or is willing to) become an ordained minister with the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Aotearoa New Zealand (WMCANZ)
What You'll Be Doing
Leading and supporting the Formation Ministry Team leaders in the implementation of our discipleship pathway across Children's Ministry, Youth, Intermediates, Adult Discipleship, and Pastoral Care.
Embodying and promoting The Well's vision for spiritual formation
Collaborating with The Well Church's Leadership Team to ensure Formation aligns with the overall vision and direction of the church
Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer leaders
Providing pastoral care and guidance to leaders, and ensuring pastoral care pathways and supports are in place within formational communities and the wider church
Managing the Formation and Pastoral Care ministry budgets and resources
